Darling Clementine, Britain's most talked about country couple and the new darlings of Radio 2 , with their country pop single ‘100,000 Words’, is the combined talents of real life husband and wife team Michael Weston King and Lou Dalgleish. Their universally critically acclaimed debut album, ‘How Do You Plead?’ has been hailed as ‘the best British Country Record ever’ and had fans and critics alike reaching for the superlatives.
King, a mainstay of the singer-songwriter & Americana scene for the past 20 years, has released 15 albums - solo, and with his alt.country pioneering band The Good Sons. He has collaborated with the likes of Chris Hillman, Ron Sexsmith, Jakie Leven and the great Townes Van Zandt, and is widely acknowledged as one of our finest songwriters.
Lou Dalgleish is the honey-voiced former dancer and actress turned singer songwriter who has released 4 stunning solo albums, including the much heralded Live at Ronnie Scotts. and has worked with the likes of Elvis Costello, The Brodsky Quartet amongst many others.
Together they have crafted an album of pure, honest, country duets, that evoke and honour the great duos of the past... the likes of Johnny Cash & June Carter, Dolly Parton & Porter Wagoner, and of course, George Jones & Tammy Wynette. Thirteen brand new songs, many sounding like long lost classics from a by-gone Nashville era. Songs of love and loss, betrayal and separation, bitterness and acrimony, but not without a hint of irony!
Featuring the likes of the great Martin Belmont (Graham Parker & The Rumour, Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello, Ducks Deluxe) on guitar; Jim Russell (Scotty Moore, James Burton, Bob Geldof) on drums; Kevin Foster (Jackie Leven, Doll By Doll, Ducks Deluxe) on bass; and Alan Cook (The Charlatans, Chris Hillman) on pedal steel, this is one of the all time great British band line-ups.

‘This is a great album’ - The Guardian
‘it was theatre, it was country music, it was rock 'n' roll. King and Dalgleish have re-invented the country duet - the mingling of these 2 voices is heavenly’ - Maverick
